If I enable it in Beta, will I be able to upgrade to the full version and keep my saves? That's the main reason I haven't touched it.

Nope the saves from beta will be incompatible with live version.

You can backup your saves before going beta though or make a new save in beta with creative mode enabled if you just want a quick glimpse what is in the upcoming DLC.

You should be able to upgrade to the full version and continue your save. The only danger is if they make a big change where something like worldgen is changed. But that seems very unlikely.

Please also be aware that once a save is loaded in the public_testing beta, it cannot be reopened again in the previous "Default" beta or previous builds.

So well you can try but you best make a backup first to be safe.
Cause i remember i could never load my Frosty Pack beta saves in the live version after i got the Frosty Pack.

They just say you cant continue the beta save without buying the DLC. Nothing special here. I could load my FP save without issue.
