How do you get an atmo suit?

I built an exosuit forge but my only option is to repair an old suit.

I know you need copper and reed fiber. I'm pretty positive I've picked up reed fiber in the past so I thought the recipe would show up. Did I do something wrong? What am I missing here?

I'm fairly new to the game still so I'm still figuring out a lot of the mechanics and to do's/not to do's.

Do you have refined copper, or just copper ore?

Also how sure are you one the reed fiber, is it in your current list of mats on the right side? Along with !!!refined!!! copper?

I think you need to have some refined metal and some reed fibre found at least once plus have researched the suit.

This ^. It's very useful to have your important mats visible on screen, you can customise what items it shows you. 2 reed fibre (also attainable through drekko ranching) and REFINED metal.

buildings that make things tell you what's available and how mush you need to complete the build. like reeds: 0/10 ....saying you have 0 reeds but it needs 10. best way to tell if you got what it needs.
