RadBolt Automation Seems Backwards to ME
I was trying to automate my Materials Study Research by way of a RadBolt Generator, RadBolt Chamber, some Reflectors, and the Terminal itself. I wanted to store RadBolts in the Chamber and once full have it shut off the Generator. I would then have the Terminal call for more RadBolts when it emptied. The problem is, the Terminal and the Chamber both put a Green signal at 100% and Red at anything under. I can't figure out how to Automate this in any simple way. I feel these objects would be better if they put out a Green signal when empty and Red at anything above. Or even better, sliders to adjust when the Green/Red signals are sent, like the Storage units. Is there a way to edit the game files for these objects or a mod that adds this functionality? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated

Use a not gate, it reverses the signal.

That's the thing I first thought of. But what happens when I do that is at 100% full I get a Red signal, but at 99% it turns Green again and the Chamber fires off another 100 RadBolts.

Use a not with a buffer, the materials study uses radbolts pretty quick so you can figure out some timing that works for you. Also, the extra radbolts will travel past the materials study input and you can use more reflectors to collect the excess again.

Well I really didn't want to go that route, I feel that this was a design mistake, but it's good to know what to do now. Thanks for the help.

The radbolt automation output is extremely basic and all designs you find for it are just work arounds. Collecting the excess and using timers might be the least wasting solution. Afaik radbolts having automation at all was just added because people asked for it and Klei didn't design anything for it. They might have taken it from this mod:

No idea why they did not add low-high automation like they've added for every other storage (gas, liquid, solid, power), but they remade a lot of mistakes from the past with the DLC and it felt like they started all over with their design process. They are currently doing quality focused patching on the test branch, so we might see more. It feels pretty ridiculous still that you have to use mutli stage automation to use the materials research, which you have to use a lot and quite early in the DLC. Also pretty confused that there is no mod for this yet (that I know of).
