I usually build bases with 9 Dupes I never see a reason to have more just to have more dupes isn't a good reason. I setup 2. It supplies the base, suits and the extra go to storage that I use for space. And I still can't use it all up. Using just 2 for 9 dupes.
If you are using 4. That's 3552 of gas enough for 35 and 1/2 Dupes. You are even over producing air by 3 times what you need. Very odd indeed. For some reason air is being deleted somehow.
If you 4 running all the time? If they, are you should be popping your base with the air you are making not running out.
Suits can store 200kgs of O2.
I tend to build SPOMs for specific tasks - one for the base, a second one for suits, etc. 4 for 10 dupes is kinda overkill, but if you have the power and water and can use the extra hydrogen, it's fine. Especially if you have 2 dedicated to the base, and the other 2 to suits, and store or pump the extra to the base if the suits aren't being actively used. There's no one way to play ONI, experiment and see what works for you,
