My game stutters 1seg
My game at a certain point (I'm on turn 700) the game starts to crash for 1 second every 30 seconds or so. So far I haven't figured out what could cause this, my conf is Ryzen 5600G, 16GB RAM, GPU2060. Has anyone experienced this?

Ah yes the good ol "Unity stutter"
I had that before in various Unity games including ONI (Constant 1 sec freeze every 30 second or so. With perfect timing between the stutters.)

Depending on how much machinery or dupes/critters you have etc.
You will experience performance problems one way or another even if you have decent hardware. All because this game runs only on one CPU core and is very CPU intensive due to amount of calculations this game has to keep track of.

Does it help if you put -USEALLAVAILABLECORES in launch options?

I think that's an Unreal engine command line. ONI runs on Unity.
So i doubt it will help.

But i never tried any startup commands except the one to force ONI to run in exclusive fullscreen. So idk.

What a shame, it's a game that I love, but it simply gets to the point where I can't play it because of these crashes.

I had a similar problem, the game would freeze for 1-2 seconds every half cycle, after 600-700 cycles. I solved it by buying a latest generation processor.
This game requires a very good CPU.

I have a Ryzen 5600G, it's not top of the line, but it should be enough for this game

It may seem that way to you, but in reality the game is very demanding on the CPU.

Yep. That CPU may be enough if you want to keep your Colony expansion moderate throughout the game.

But proper ONI "late game" with large colonies requires the fastest CPU you can buy.

Ambiguous pipe flow is not going to be working to your advantage reliably, even without a major performance hit. So never branch or merge pipes without using a bridge.

As far as I can see from my tests, this also happens with a bridge.

Interesting. Here is the test case that a Klei developer confirmed causes stuttering:

A thing to do would be for someone with the OP's stuttering issue to try and repro whether this pipe layout also causes the stutter you've been seeing.

Next would be testing whether using bridges helps.
