What to do with Sporechids?

I didn't played this game since a long time and now this thing is here, I have no idea what it is but sounds scary.

Do I need an atmo suit and some kind of decontamination for this or what?

definitely set up a handwashing station and at least an oxygen mask checkpoint on the way to this thing.

you can select the flower and click the link on the pathogen name (zombie spores) to learn that they spread by touch and inhalation. sounds like atmo suit will be your safest bet

I would waterlock the room so spores don't get out and uproot the plant so no new spores are made. Don't enter the area without a atmo suit or dupes will get a -10 penalty to all stats for 18 cycles. Once you uproot the plant the spores will die off slowly but it will take 50 cycles. Slimelung or floral spores or radiation will speed up the die off.

It's used in the latest story trait.

germs kill other germs, only one type of germ can exist within a defined piece of material. (that is hella helpful to quickly disinfect toilet water with just a couple liters of slimelung water)

planting buddy bud on the way will help by creating the floral scent germs in the air.

Can be isolated with glass inside a CO2 box for obscene decor (for a plant, statue/artifact spam still beats it).
The debuff is also useful when training duplicants, sure they may train slower due to research debuffs but you'll have to input less orders.

Thanks guys!

Sounds less scary than it is then, first I thought its some kind of game ending pathogen.
Also I checked the wiki now and see there is some robot I can build with its germs, might as well try that too :steamhappy:

Use them as kind of exotic decoration in your base.
No really. They are barely any danger.

Which is a bit dissapointing.

They have pretty high decor value too.
