Pretty much every ONI machine generates too much heat for farms. Machines and farms should be very deliberately separated in base design and extra heat should be pushed outdoors. Seek out the frost biome early game. It is not only a gigantic ocean(warning: mining the tiles will delete 50% of the water and cold!), but the cold will keep your base safe for hundreds of cycles.
Do not waste effort with boiling water. It's simply too much heat. Germy water can be purified by stacking chlorine with a liquid reservoir(some assembly required), or it can be consumed directly for research/oxygen/reeds(no effort needed). Just don't mix it into your clean water.
Many new player issues arise from not ranching early enough. Ranching is very beginner friendly as the critters require very little maintenance and their numbers will naturally grow with your colony. Pips provide a free source of dirt with wild arbor trees, and dreckos give free phosphorite with lily balm. Good stuff.
=HEHEHE
=AND ALSO............ I'VE NOTICED A VERY STRANGE PATTERN OF PIPS' BEHAVIOR ABUSE WHICH ENABLES THEM TO.......... KIND OF........... PLANT UNLIMITED NUMBER OF PLANTS PER TILE, HEHEHE........................
=LIKE U'RE MAKING A ROOM FULL OF PIPS, FUUUUUUULLL OF PIPS......... THEN U GIVE THEM SEEDS........... AND LIKE DOOR BETWEEN TILE THEY CAN PLANT, AND SEEDS............ WHICH PERIODICALLY OPEN/CLOSE
=SO EACH TIME DOOR OPENS, PIP WILL PICK UP 1 SEED.......... AND WILL GO TO PLANT IT, BUT WHEN DOOR CLOSES, PIP WILL FORGET ABOUT IT IS HOLDING A SEED OR WAS GOING TO PLANT............... BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...................... WHEN DOOR OPENS, PIP WILL START TO PICK ANOTHER SEED............ BUT THE SEED PIP FORGOT ABOUT IS STILL THERE, SOOOOOOOO WHEN PIP WILL GET TO THAT TILE, IT'LL PLANT TWO PLANTS, AT JUST AT SAME TILE, HEHE
=AND............... UNLIMITED SEEDS, GOT IT?????????????
=SO IT'S POSSIBLE TO CRAMP HUNDREDS OF ARBOR TREES AT SAME TILE SO THEY'LL PROVIDE A LOAD FOR 10Kg/s ETHANOL PIPE WHICH IS ENOUGH TO FEED 5 PETROL GENERATORS, HEHE............ AND GIVING JUST ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF BYPRODUCTS HEHE
=BUT I'VE NEVER TRIED IT SO WILL TRY SOMEHOW AT NEAR FUTURE, HEHEHE
=AAAAAHHHHH YESSSSSSS I'VE DONE LIKE THIS, SILLY ME I JUST FORGOT... HEHE

=SOOOOOOOOO, U SEE ALL THE PARTS, RIGHT???????......... A COOLING WORT CHAMBER, AND EVERYTHING AS WELL ABOUT INFINITE STORAGES FOR EVERYTHING
=BUT I'D RATHER TO ADD A SOME LIQUID LOCK TO PREVENT THE POSSIBILITY OF OFF GAS.... OR DEODORIZER, BUT SINCE............... KIND OF............. THIS COLONY WAS ALREADY BUILT ABOUT THAT DO NOT CARE POLLUTED OXYGEN OR NOT, IT'S FREE OF SLIMELUNG SO I DONT CARE
The easiest way to kill slimelung is cooling the material to below 20℃, though.
Keep in mind that nat gas generators only use 90g gas per second, so their output mass is just as low.
Phosphorite is produced by Dreckos.
Dirt can be produced via growing trees and using lumber in ethanol distillers and the composting. This uses pwater, though, if trees aren't wild.
I don't normally use fertilizer, so I'm not sure if it is worth it.
I have two Hatch and one Drecko farm. I was wondering how I could cool 40 C liquid so I can use it in my base.
What do you think?
Iirc the sieves output temperature shoud be the input temperature.
The 40℃ thing should be massively outdated information and has been changed for the games release (or something like that).
The simplest solution is... don't worry about it. Insulate the bathrooms, keep the heat barricaded away from farms, then destroy the water. Some good water sinks are pincha papper(don't eat them), reeds or arbor trees.
Heat management is a huge metagame challenge in ONI. The early solution is to explore for a frost biome, and steal the cold from there. Wheezewort and the anti entropy nullifier are good enough for wrangling small heat sources like leaky insulation or hot air. Big industrial heat and lava demand steam turbines. Work these things out at your own pace, a frost biome will last long enough to bash out a few lessons on your own.
You can also use that warm polluted water as coolant for your metal refineries, then collect it as hot as possible in water resevoirs before feeding it in to a steam chamber, where it's cleaned of any germs and made in to pure water.
