the hardware is what runs the game, so if you don't want to go down that road, thats on you. in the menu, under graphic settings you can try setting to low resolution textures, but i cant imagine that will make a significant difference.
in steam, up top right, click help and go to system information. copy and paste that info here. or don't. whatever, im out. hope it all works out.

I'M LEAning towards this being the problem
just a guess.
Otherwise, most electronics shops that I'm familiar with are happy to do simple jobs like that for a few dollars, if you bring in your computer and a graphics card. It all depends on what your budget is.
The installation itself maybe simple, but many of these pre-built setups run pretty close to the limit of their power supplies.
Just one more thing to consider before investing time and money on a setup that really is not meant for gaming to begin with.
1280x720, 60Hz
Check "FullScreen"
Check "Low Resolution textures"
Then restart the game.
(As always, make sure you have closed every other application you can.)
If that still doesn't help, switch down to 1024x768, 60Hz, and restart the game again.
Also (IMPORTANT), just never gain more than 5 duplicants total. Choose the other Fabricator options, like printing minerals, food, etc.. Try not to dig out EVERY tile on any map. Every 10 cycles, create a new manual save if performance is still holding up. I was able to play games fairly well (but slowly) on Intel integrated graphics on a ~10y old laptop not too long ago.
I would also recommend something else. This game looks really nice at a decent frame rate but doesn't hold up very well at lower frame rates like games with different art styles would. It's likely it will get even lower as your colony ages. Trying to push the duplicant counts, I often cut my Fps in half or worse at 4x speed (Luckily still high enough to look smooth)
I've never played factorio but it does appear like it would look much better at low frame rates, plus the fact it may run better is a big plus.
