So this thing randomly appeared behind some of my generators... it has definitely not been there and there is no decor there so I'm very confused where it came from.

Is this just some background decoration that's always been in the game? Or is it some evil three eyed space worm come to destroy my colony?!

Nah it's not actually a critter. It's something that appeared in the background -- in space -- looks like a face of a puft but it looks frozen and has a longer body.

Ah, that's probably a Sticker Bomb. Dupes with the "Sticker Bomber" trait place them in areas with terrible decor to make the area look nicer.

Consider them a hint to improve the decorations around that area.

I'm kidding. Mostly. Some of them are balloons and stuff. The bombers do a great job of upping decor though.
Personally I go for the sparkle streakers when getting a choice. They look (and move) like kids cracked out on sugar highs.
