longhair slickster; useful or limiting?
I haven't gotten to messing with slicksters in the preview yet, but a glance at the conditions for the various slicksters it seems like the longhair ones are half designed to make it more difficult to maintain a perpetual slickster farm in a more favorable area closer to your base.

also they look like they have hitler 'staches when they breathe.

Longhair slicksters are basically a pet dog.
A large decor boost in a good sized area that dupes would find temperate enough to be within. The only question is if the oxygen consumption is worth it for the amount of time a dupe would normally be next to one.

Considering that, they would be useful to put inside of a room where a dupe would spent a lot of time inside of, in order to get the most benefit for "seeing" the longhair slickster.

I get their use, my point is that if you try to keep a normal slickster farm in an area cool enough for your dupes to be in you're going to end up getting longhair eggs.

also they have hitler 'staches! lol

I used them for base cooling on oasis for a while feeding them hot O2 till I got proper cooling.

Other than that I couldn't think of any good use for them...

well if your on top of your oxygen production, i dont see why not keeping one around. major decor boost means in areas you dont have a lot of options for extra decor, but can pump oxygen into, you can off set that rooms negative decor with one of those. and as long as it has oxygen to consume, its happy, dupes are happy, everyones happy.

Late game you actually want to run electrolyzers more than normal to get more hydrogen to fuel your rocket. Most people end up spacing a lot of o2 at this point. Longhair o2 consumption would be seen as a benefit.

Also slicksters are when you work out the value very cheap for their output once you get them established. Its a lot of initial work yes, but afterwards they are some meat and oil/petrol for only dupe labor input.

Yes, this! If you have excessive amounts of water generation and need power or rocket fuel, I also have realised you can simply run a ton of elecrolyzers and feed the excess oxygen which you don't want to the longhair slicksters. The waste product then, which is the oxygen, can be turned into calories in the form of omelettes or meat/barbeque, which is amazing.

You do have many other options of course, but if you are running short on food sources mid to late game due to some system issues, I can see longhair slicksters being a better alternative than feeding water to bristle blossoms as a short term saving grace, with the added bonus of power. All depends on what you have access to of course. I have never actually implemented this mind you, so I don't know the calorie output comparison, but given my current situation, I think it would be worth investigating this finally in my currently playthrough. I can just run a whole bunch of hydrogen generators while getting food for oxygen as I have tons of excess water available to me and have access to slicksters, so it's a perfect fit. Maybe there's a caveat I'm not seeing here but from what I've gathered it's an underestimated tactic I don't normally see anyone employ.

As I know, overoptimizing people normally use copious amount of shine bugs to exploit decor (lure dupes into a room with abyss shine bugs to get max decor very fest).
I know that some people used them to destroy oxygen (for some reason just venting to space wasn't good enough) and for farming meat, but I would recommend shave voles and pakus instead, since finished farm is literally free. Two happy long hair slicksters breath as much as one normal dupe, so they're not actually that expensive to keep.
