Transporting liquids
What's the most efficient way to bring oil from all the way across the map back to the base if I just want a small amount? I've been running bottles but it takes forever, but I also want to avoid building a ton of pipes and wires so far out.

You can usually dig a little to arrange some mopping. Not sure if it's more efficient that a pump and pipes though. Depends how little we're talking about really. But generally I have found that the path of least resistance is to just bite the bullet and build one top to bottom ladder/fire pole/tube/wire/liquid/gas somewhere to one side of your base.
It sucks balls to build it obviously, but once it's done it's done and it's relatively easy to grab whatever you want from either side afterwards. Or oil from the bottom. I still maintain that this is much easier to do without exosuits and using priorities though, which is why exosuits and priorities are so utterly pointless, unless you're studying a geyser or building something in oil I guess. But even that you can do in shifts. A few people will get heat stroke, but it will still more efficient than the wole exosuit nonsense. And all you achieve with priorities is that only one person does everything, which takes a 25-50 cycle process and turns it into a 500 cycle process.

Exosuits aren't a big deal to me anymore, since I figured out that I could set airlocks to be one-way at a whim. My main concern with digging a long tunnel (up, at least) is chlorine pockets, of which there are many and that I don't have a good idea of how to deal with.
Best to bite the bullet on this one. You can always deconstruct later if you need the materials.

Contrary to what the first poster said you're better off getting exosuites before descending into the heat. Saves way more time to get the suite system up and running rather than have dupes constantly taking breaks to breath and long recovery times in a med bay.

Mind you it depends on your dupe numbers as well. I tend to stick to about 6 or 8 well into the late game.

You may just want to build a pipe and pump and pump your oil to somewhere nearer to you base
, but for refine oil to plastic you probably will need plenty of ice or cooled polluted water.
I would try and limit the power you need way down. Would try and build a small room with OXy and Co2 plants and a U-shape bucket to make a ice sculpture in (when it block set prio to zero so your arts will not make it into a sculpture Probably it will melt in 1 cycle).

My current with everything below doesn't realy work. It takes way to much running of my dupes to opperate and power it and drag the plastic to my base, but i got my plastic beds. So my dubs are happy :)

PS Oil refiner does not like overpressure. So build plenty of doors if building down below, because you cannot vent gas above 2000 kg with a plastic.
