Resin just disappears
I pump my resin into the steam chamber of a steam engine. But in there it just becomes less and less without leaving any isoresin. Only when the remaining resin fully evaporates, it leaves some isoresin. In the end I started with about a ton of resin and got a bit less than 1.5kg of isoresin. I was wondering all the time, why I feed the tree tens of thousands of calories and have only a few kg of isoresin. This really sucks. Is that problem known and is there a solution?

The ONI wiki page on Liquid Resin[oxygennotincluded.fandom.com] states that due to bugs you shouldn't dump it out and evaporate it because of what you experienced. Instead, to get it to work properly, use liquid valves to make 1kg or less packets within a pipe and heat it above its boiling point in there (1kg or less liquid packets can't change state within a pipe) and then dump it out of a vent, at which point it will evaporate and give the correct amount of isoresin.

Adding to what gimmethegepgun liked which is absolutely capable of reducing the expected outcome, what you are facing right now is probably another bug of the game. Are you dropping it into a spot that is blocked left and right by other elements? That can cause elements to disappear on state change (like dropping water down a 1 tile wide hot shaft under a steam generator.

I used to boil resin with a steam chamber and dropping it and always got resin, just way way way less than expected, because I am not a fan of that 10% pipe mechanic. After reading the wiki I started doing it with resin and got a lot more. I never got 0 out of it though. They increased resin gain before the SO release, but seems to have not fixed the issue why most players are probably getting so little resin (because they are just following presented game logic without playing on the quirks).

It seems to work when there is a vaccuum in the steam chamber before the resin is pumped in.

Yeah but that should just fix it until you filled it again with the steam from the resin. The pipe thing is basically the safest thing you can do to not lose any isoresin.

It did not really fix it, the amount of resin was still far too low. I changed the setup to 10% pipe mechanic. It feels like cheating to use this mechanic and I don't like that I have to use it to solve the issue of a bug. I understand, that they wanted to make the high end recources harder to get but when I introduce such a meachanic, it should at least work.

I don't think it's really cheating in this case. You're not using it to try to move liquids around when they're hotter than they should be, you're only using it to heat it up to above boiling and then getting rid of it, which is hardly different than heating it to boiling out in the open except that it doesn't encounter the mass deletion bug.

If vacuum chamber worked i wonder if 1 tempshift plate with liquid vent against it surrounded by tiles to have heat bank and opened into space exposure would also. Surrounding tiles should be kept hot enough so 10kg packet evaporate as it drops out and vacuum should eat steam instantly.

Same reason I only use it for this. Given how the mechanic with the 10% pipes is made it's likely not a bug or oversight, but it still feels weird to do. Since the base mechanic does not really work that well in this specific case you don't really have much other options though. The game has quite a few bugs and sometimes you have to just work around them.
