Can sweetles tend to Mealwoods?

I've locked one of those for 2 cycles in a designated room. Not a single plant has "Sweetle tended". What plants can they tend to beside Grubfruits? Do they need to be tamed to tend to anything else?

hmm, are the mealwoods in planters or farm tiles?

They are on farm tiles. Sweetles are completely wild and unfed (will try to feed them next time, unless the game will be updated).

I had done this same experiment a couple updates ago (after the 1st or 2nd one, late Dec), and neither planter boxes nor farm tiles worked, whether I had a feeder/grooming station (tamed/wild). So no-go on the mealwood at this point.

very low chance, like 5%? better off getting grubgrubs

edit: or maybe they only tend to DLC plants?
