Is the current DLC worth buying?

I'm planning to buy the base game, I have in fact played this game somewhere else and I know it's awesome, I also know from the reviews that the DLC for this was criticized and although I do see from the recent update history that the devs have been putting out major updates for the DLC, is it actually worth paying full price for?

Have the devs made any announcements about other DLCs?

When is the current DLC going on Sale?


p.s. If I don't own the DLC will I be able to enjoy the content from the DLC that made its way to the base game like Oxygen Masks or Stinging Eyes debuff if I don't own the DLC?

I'd say its worth it, makes space exploration a much more dynamic and interesting feature of the game.

In a word yes, i like the game. If you buy the base game you get the base game, if you also buy the DLC you get the DLC content, if you don't you won't.

You will get a bunch of quality of life stuff from the DLC that they ported over from the DLC however.

Some of the changes will be ported to base game regardless if you have dlc or not. As they announced in recent well.. announcement

But not at the moment while the dlc is still in EA

Only for those who have the dlc for now. They specifically mentioned that in the big merge announcent.

Those who don't have the dlc will have to wait.

Depends. You got the old unfixed problems and the DLC one.

Game itself is good...but you'll get tons of crashes, glitches and lags on late game.

It's impossible to answer "Is it worth it?" because everyone is different. I bought it first hour the DLC was offered, because I trust the Klei developers to make quality content - they have an excellent record with their other games. If you're a new player - put some time into the base game before you move into the DLC - the DLC builds on top of the base game, and you'll need those skills to get into the DLC.

Right now? It's in early development/beta. It's not stable. If you want stable, play the base game, wait for the DLC to come out officially, and watch the reviews.

I'd say play the basegame. And once you get tired of it get the DLC because the DLC mixes gameplay up quite a bit. It's essentially two different games.

I'd just go ahead and get it, though I acknowledge there is a case for playing without it.
