Ignoring emergencies, and directional flow in pipes
I really, really need the dupes to sweep up an area that was about to become a waste receptacle, so I tagged the sweep comman !!. They went ahead sweeping stuff that was priority 2 instead. After messing around for awhile, the only way I could find to get them to do the job I wanted them to was reset its priority to 9. Then they went right after it. Is this a bug or a feature?

Also, having some issues with plumbing. Liquid plumbing is weird because the water moves in packets, and will flow uphill without being pushed. So, it seems like the pipe has a direction to it, but if I add in a bridge to take overflow off to storage, water will flow toward it, from the wrong direction, whereas I thought it was supposed to go straight past in the established flow direction until the pipe was full, and only then take the branch.

Any ideas what might be wrong here?

Higher priority tasks get worked on first. "!!" or the Red Alert seems to tell the dupes to ignore danger or the need for sleep to keep working. Using "!!" on an errand with low priority doesn't seem to behave well.

"ONI pipe rules" searches well, but here's a simple picture with the important aspects:

One important detail that is not covered by the above is that flow direction is fixed but arbitrary. In the following example water can flow from the left pump to the right vent, but not from the right pump to the left vent.

If you don't like that behaviour then you need to redesign the pipe layout to avoid sections that could flow in either direction.

I thought that the input connector on a pipe bridge had some kind of priority aspect- only accepting flow from a side branch if the straight branch was empty. Apparently that's not the case- the point was to make an overflow loop for bathrooms that would extract only the minimum amount of pwater to keep the cycle going, but I'll have to find another way.

The reversed the priority like the green and white got reversed. Now the bridge takes highest priority instead of last.

The priority of sweeping tasks seems to be primarily set by the receptacle rather than the debris. If you make a single storage unit, give that sweep only, mark the required debris with any priority and make that storage unit !! it will be dealt with quickly.
