Move items to storage?

So, I want something moved immediately. I press K (move items to storage), and set them to yellow alert. No one is touching them even though I have one of my dupes on max tidy duty. I've tried switching it up and having them on max storing instead, but they still don't do it. What am I doing wrong?

Hmm. Could it be that my bins are only set to all and not "sweep only"? Lemme try....

Check the job priority for the sweep task, otherwise your Dupes will happily ignore it until there's nothing else to do.

they should still be able to sweep even if its accept all, my dupes are doing that right now

Could it be that you have higher priority things taking your dupes attention?

it's been while since I've played but I think it works like this:

If you have a dupe on max tidy duty, it doesn't mean a 5 priority sweep will take priority over an 8 priority dig for that dupe. In this scenario it would only mean that if all tasks were priority 5, it would do the sweep first as sweeping is it's highest priority.

Dupes personal priorities are secondary to the overall priority of set tasks.

That may not be totally right, and someone may correct me, but I think it's close to the direction you need to be thinking.

This is my setup. The items on the bottom right are the ones I want moving immediately. I have 3 bins set to sweep all (All items) and the rest set to all. One my dupes is set to Very high priority tidying and high priority supplying and storing.

Still can't figure it out.

You have to take the screenshot of your setup with the priority info showing. One of the buttons on the bottom right should do it.

only thing i can think of is to try lowering storage priority, since sweeping is tidy. and second thing is that maybe you changed the door permissions to not let dupes enter that room

Increase the storage's priority higher for whichever storage you want to put the material in then decrease it back to 5 when it's done. This should make the dupe do the task asap.

Well, they seem to be doing it slowly. Not as urgent as I'd like, but I'll just put up with it for now.

Have you tried expanding those alerts at the top left? It's likely your answer is in there, not in the forum. There are red storage icons next to your sweeps, right? That should have generated an alert.

Anyway... leave it down there lol. That stuff is so contaminated that you don't want your dupes down there getting diseased. It's likely a blessing in disguise that they aren't doing it. A general rule of thumb is to avoid getting dupes wet when possible, especially with contaminated water.

Your storage icons are all red, you don't have an appropriate storage spot/space available.

First, what are the bottles? You need a Bottle Emptier set to the right liquid.

Second, double check your storage settings. When you uncover new materials they aren't necessarily added to the storage container lists. Looks like Bleach Stone (off-gassing Chlorine), your storage is probably not set to accept it.

Third, and this is just general info, click one of the items that won't store, look at the popup's Errands tab. There might be info here to tell you what's actually going on (versus what you think should be going on) with that particular object.
