Heat deletion in Oil Well?
If I heat water, then send it into my Oil Well, will the heat in the water be deleted? Or does the heat of the water impact the temperature of the Oil Well/crude oil that is produced?

Oil is minimum 90C, if the water is hotter than 90C the oil will also be hotter. Wouldn't necessarily delete heat but wouldn't be a bad way to move heat from somewhere you want cooler into the oil. I could see where this could be useful plus, since the oil is minimum 90C anyway you might as well use the water to collect some heat before sending it to the oil well.

Oil wells actually create heat. Even though oil has 60% lower SHC than water the mass of 3.33kg of the oil, that is produced, holds more heat than incoming water.

That being said, if you were going to make the oil anyway, you delete heat by putting in hotter water since it'll be 90C either way.

not really. also the nat gas comes out at like 250C so they're just always hot spots. I still try to make sure the water I feed into them is close to 90 though since feeding it in cooler does waste some potential to remove heat energy... but that usually just consists of some normal pipes going into the oil biome.

I recommend against that. When you empty the oil well the water inside of the well will heat up and start boiling. This means the well will break and water will escape. If you are like me. You really do not want steam in the oil biome or you do not want your oil to be mixed with water. Having water at a lower temp will give you a buffer so that you do not break the well when you empty it.

right, that can happen. a little water usually get into my oil biome somehow anyways so I stopped worrying about it. I just put my pump at the bottom of the oil biome and it's never an issue. :P

it can help to put insulated pipes on the last few sections before the oil well to avoid them rupturing though.
