Insulation Building Advice
what would the best thing to build insulated tiles out of when starting a new game?

i remember it used to Abyssalite but i heard they removed Abyssalite Insulated tiles quite a while back but i am starting to get back into the game abit and was wondering what would be a good material to stop temperature pollution?

Anything you make them out of is going to do a very good job of keeping heat where it's supposed to be.
That said, the most effective cheap option is igneous rock.
From what I understand you used to be able to build things using Abyssalite. That has since been removed. However you do use Abyssalite in the production of Insulation which is a near perfect insulator.

Insulated tiles do bleed heat. Depending on the material it bleeds in different ways. You should try to avoid reactive materials such as Obsidian (unless you need it for the melting point). If you ask me the following material is best to heat or cold from going to where you do not want it.

1. Insulation (hard to get but it is the best)
2. Vacuum (if you want a perfect insulator just build a layer of vacuum around it. Heat can't transfer if there isn't a medium around it to transfer heat into.
3. Ceramic (somewhat harder to get but should be dedicated for your space program or very special projects until you can replace it with Insulation)
4. Igneous Rock (It is among the most common rock types for this so you have plenty of it. It is also slow heating)

I generally use igneous rock until I get to the surface then I use mafic rock. a double layer of insulated igneous tiles is effectively as good as abyssalite was in most situations.
For generally insulating your base, any insulated tile will suffice. If you have something where you need effectively perfect insulation, double wall it, or create a vacuum. For things like Volcanoes and magma, use obsidian which won't melt.
