Using vacuum as an insulator
So discovered last night that using a 2 tile chamber between hot zone and my base. then pumping out all the gases to create a vacuum. It worked great. The barracks came back down in temp in no time.

Ive never seen anybody do this on YouTube or in pictures on here.

Now you may ask. Why not just use insulated tile? Well i had just started a new base and didnt realize whem i did it but i built the barrack just touching a hot zone...

It was quicker research wise to try making a vacuum insulator. Ill post a picture if the people request it.

I use insulated tile for the walls but I use a 2 tile chamber between two waterlocks at the exosuit exits from the base. I didn't want to lose heat and normal airlocks are terrible when it comes to letting gasses and heat go through.

I also considered the vacuum double wall, but I did not want to lose that space early on.

I"ve seen pics of using a vacuum gap for insulation here, though I don't think i've actually seen pics of the double waterlock to keep the vacuum perfect. I've seen descriptions of doing it though.

I"m not sure if it would've been faster to make a vacuum gap on oasis or the insulated tile I went with...ah well, I've got 3 aquatuners dedicated to steam-turbine cooling now (and 2 more ready to be hooked up without breaking open the steam chamber), I can start slowly cooling down the desert itself rather than worrying too much about insulation.

You would really like the Empteria map then, its like 90% space vacuum, has its pros and cons of course, but just got done beating the map and feels good.

It's fairly well known, although people sometimes don't use it because just regular insulated tile, or combo of insulated and normal tile does the job.

But for the heavy duty stuff, like steam systems, it's fairly normal to see just because of how much heat there is.

I have a nice cropped screenshot of it ready to upload but I am having difficulties figuring out how to upload it to steam workshop (or elsewhere) and then include the link on the forum. I have seen people do it but I have no idea how. The Steam forum makes it very difficult to post pictures. Investigating.
