Petroleum generator not registering Ethanol as fuel

I've got a bunch of Petrol generators, which so far I fed with petrol. But since I started a dirt farm and got a lot of excess lumber, I though turning that into Ethanol and burn it in the PetrolGens as well.
So I just placed an ethanol-thing next to my petrol thing, pumped all the products in one pipe and thought that's great and easy...
Though while the PG don't complain about getting Ethanol, they take it in, but don't burn it and instead complain about not having enough fuel. But they have like 24g of petrol and 20kg of ethanol...

I thought they can burn both? Or is the issue that I am sending in both mixed, rather than either pure petrol OR pure ethanol? Though shouldn't they just burn up one in their storage and then burn the other? Or can't they burn up the 24g, yet won't touch the ethanol up until the petrol is at 0?

Internal storage logic probably tries to use petrol first then defaults to not enough fuel without checking for additional fuel types. I'd file it in the official bug tracker if i were you.

K thanks... well hopefully I have a working autosave, because right now this is shutting down my 3 PetroGen which are my main power source >.<

Though I'll see tomorrow, if maybe reloading will fix it. I remember having another issue where reloading after a day fixed it, while reloading after a minute did not O.o

Just rebuild the generator, it apparently doesnt work with two types of fuel at the same time.

If you already have X amount of fuel in it the geni will try to use that fuel to the end before colecting more, so if there some gas and you try to send it ethanol it will not work unless you dump the remain fuel, the same is with ethanol

What is really annoying, is the gen is not burning all the petrol, but leaves a tiny volume which is to little to burn in a tick or so. But since it will fill up with Ethanol no problem, the generator is now basically destroyed and will never work again <.<

True, why the geni needs leftovers, just burn it all

You know since I made my solar solution I actually don't use the geni anymore, or any generator hehhehehe

Its only half of the array and it makes about 8 Kw of power (100% free power) ;)

I have a similar setup, but my auto-miners are currently overheating, so I need a find a way to cool them down <.<
Yours don't seem to have any cooling either. What do you do about it?

Yours don't seem to have any cooling either. What do you do about it?

simple don't use any air, keep it in vacuum, also I have isolated tiles below the miner (to keep it fresh) because the bunker tiles get hot

Edit:

They will heat up over time, just takes to long to even get to max temp

I thought so to. But looking at them, they heat up like 0.1°C while mining, which only takes a few meteor showers before they overheat...

This is how I plan to cool it down

I use Oil in the pockets I made for the auto-miners and have some pipes passing by with more oil that goes to the turbine below to keep the oil cold, (also pass by the glass to keep the turbine busy) hehehehehheheh

Did you put oil into the pockets or are you just passing by with radiant pipes?
I just tried pumping cold CO2 gas there, but because the drywall behind the miners is already heated up thanks to regolith, the setup is speeding up the destruction...

Also those pockets block some light onto the solar panels, does this decrease their effectivity?

but yes I add petroleum (not oil, is better) to the pockets and drywall, then the radiant pipes pass by the petroleum on their way to the left from the right, after that makes a turn and pass by the glass bellow, the pipes have petroleum too.

No, the solar pannels work great, they don't get block

Edit: gas will not work because you have no good way of closing in the miner, usless you have a ton of gas to spend

Well I have a CO2 geyser right below the surface, spitting out -55°C gas while active and no idea what else to do with it... So I guess I have gas to spare, but right now it does heat up the place more than anything and I actually wanted to save steel to finally build a rocket... oh well, I guess that has to wait even longer >.<
