Hatch Vs Stone Hatch

I would like to ask what is the interest of having Stone Hatch over Hatches Thanks a lot !

They eat different things. Stone hatches eat the most abundant materials, like igneous rock. Hatches eat sand and sedimentary rock which is a little less common. They also have slightly different metabolism but both produce coal.

I like stone hateches on maps with a magma volcano then they have infinite food depending on how many stone hatches you have.

Smple answer is because stone hatches can eat all the minerals while normal hatches can only eat sedimentary rock and sandstone. You usually get endless amounts of igneous rock and obsidian in particular that it is super to have a use for.
