How to Zoom In and Out?
My kids destroyed the mouse I was using to zoom in and out. Is there a keyboard key for zooming in and out? I've searched online but can't find anything :-/

There's not a default key but you can set the controls in the Options menu to make it Page Up and Page Down instead or something like that. From inside a world press Esc then click on Options, then click on Controls. Use the scroll bar on the right to scroll down. THe zoom controls are about 60% of the way down the list.

If you want to zoom out to the entire map, it's alt+s. But it comes with restrictions to prevent abuse.

Is it just me, or is this not an option, that when I got ESC (from within a world.. on oni for windows via steam..) and then options.. controls is not one of the menu items. I have graphics, audio, game, data collection, feedback, and credits.. and no.. "controls" exists.

What "abuse" I wonder.

There's a "Controls" button on the Game tab.

Seriously, how can zooming be considered abuse?

This is why the Bigger Camera Zoom mod is the only mod I absolutely NEED to enjoy playing. It's the best and easiest way to play. I can keep an eye on many things at once, layout long piping/wiring lines, monitor progress on large construction projects (Priorities overlay, construction filter, watch all the little numbers disappear) and it makes moving around the map so much easier. Focus on a spot, zoom way out, move mouse to where I want to focus next, zoom in, view follows the mouse as you zoom. So much nicer than scrolling a screen at a time.

Dude thanks, I looked there but it is kinda hidden and that's not where they were saying it was so I overlooked it. You rock!

Okay then now I notice you can't keep your mouse scroll option and ADD a second keybind. Uhhh. I don't want to remove the mouse scroll I just want to add another method. I guess I have to use a third party alternative.. thing is I like the mouse scroll zoom but in some instances it's much too sensitive so I find my self fighting it back and forth over and over so a key bind would help. But now I see that in order to to that I have to lose the nose scroll zoom. Yuk! FMR: Make multiple keys be allowed to bind to same action.

This is a very valid request, most games allow 2 different keys to be bound to one action. I'd file a bug report with Klei and ask for this to be added, I can't see why they couldn't figure it out pretty easily.

Here is an example of a keybind set in the keybindings.json file:

{"mButton":"NumButtons","mKeyCode":"O","mAction":"RotateBuilding","mModifier":"None"}

Maybe if someone could figure out how to add a second key to an entry or even a way to add a second entry for the same action. I tried a couple of different ways but I'm not a modder in any way what-so-ever so no luck. Someone smarter than me may be able to look at that and figure out a way so I thought it couldn't hurt to post this just in case.

i bet youre right you can probably duplicate one of the lines and modify it slightly to get the effect. eventually I just changed my mouse scroll lines to lower like 2 or something and now its much less sensitive when I zoom. but still I can think of dozens of cases besides this one where knowing how to map a duplicate key would come in handy.
