Power Control Station Not Tuning
I have my power control station set to priority 9 and even have set it to emergancy at times yet for some reason my dupes don't tune up the generators. I have 6 coal generators in a room with PCS and yet when I first built the room they tuned up 3 of the 6 generators but not the rest and then almost never came back to retune once the original tuning wore off.

So I have a power room where generators are almost never turned. This seem like a horrible mechanic and AI for it is terrible as well. I see a ton of vids with people and power rooms having PCS in them but how do you make it reliable?

What metal did you set for it to use, and do you have any available?

Im not using these stations so I might be speaking out of my ass here, but I would assume the PCS only create the microchips. Increasing priority on them would only make dupes prioritize creating more microchips. What you need to do is increase priority on the tune-up errand. As always check the errands tabs to see how you can do that.

I have no idea why you mix in ai. What does ai have to do with it? There might be a problem with some generators not having a priority setting, but that's not ai.

Unless you are missing resources like Battleseed suggested. Obviously if the errand is impossible playing around with priorities does nothing.

How many dupes do you have with the skill to do tune ups?
Check they aren't a high priority for another type of job

Also check in the Priorities section that the dup(s) in question have a higher Operate priority. That was my issue when I started using the power tune up station.
To tune up a machine, first your dupe needs the electrical engineering skill. This is the second operator type skill in the line. Without this, they will not tune up machines.

Then to increase the priority, you change priority on the generator itself, not the power control station. As Hedning said, the PCS only controls how often they make computer chips to tune up with.

I have the dupes with Tune up set to Operate at highest priority which covers tune ups but they seem to just go and operate other machines like oil refinery and etc. They do the tune up some of the time but on average it seems like only 1-2 of the 6 are tuned up at any given time.

Also I use Lead since I have a ton and as far as I've read it doesn't matter what metal you use.

Operate handles all operating tasks equally. You have to set the generator priority above other operating machinery to get them to prioritize them.
