Auto wrangle baby critter
I'm trying to design an auto farm for hatches. My issue is that i can't find a a way to make duplicants auto wrangle the baby hatches and put them in the stable after the egg finishes incubating which is a problem for me as i'll have to wait 5 more cycles until they grow up to put them in the stable (i have a separated incubating room that get activated only when there is not enough hatches in the stable and no egg is being incubated). so my question is : Am I doing something wrong or is there no way to make duplicants auto wrangle baby critters and put them in the fitting stable ?

Put a critter drop off in the incubation room set to hatchlings, auto wrangle surplus and set the number to 0

Put a critter drop off in the hatchling stable set to hatchlings, auto wrangle surplus and set the number to 20.
Make sure that hatch is unticked so they get removed

That should remove any from the incubation room drop them in the hatchling room and then auto wrangle them when they grow up.

Well that's the set up i have, but the problem is that they ignore completely the hatchling and don't auto-wrangle it. If i manually order to wrangle the hatchling in the incubation room (or anywhere) they transport it to the set stable or room but if i don't keep ordering it manually they completely ignore hatcheling (even if the critter drop off shows 1/0) and wrangle it only when it grows (in the stable's drop off i set hatchlings and hatches, even tried with a stable for only hatchlings but it doesn't work). Did you try it yourself and found that duplicants auto wrangle baby critters ?

My ranch drop-offs are to priority 7-9. Max critters 8. No auto wrangle. Eggs are removed with sweepers.
Drowning room drop-off is priority 6. 20 critters, all types I want to drown.
My drop-off in the incubation room is set to 5 priority. Auto-wrangle and for 0 max. Hatchlings and hatches of each type are checked. When hatchlings hatch, they are sent to a ranch if there is space, or to the drowning room. GLHF

Edit: Just took a look at the incubation room drop-off. Sage Hatches and Stone Hatches are not listed, which means they have not shown up in my game yet. The hatchlings are being drowned before they come of age. Haven't paid attention to the ranches since sweepers went in a hundred cycles or so ago.

Are you disabling the incubators? If they are constantly disabled then maybe that's why your dupes won't move the hatches out. As always check the errands tab.

incubators are disabled and the hatchling is moving around, i really don't know what this problem is, they wrangle only when it grows even if in the stable it's set to accept hatchlings and hatches

Just for testing after your answers, i put manually hatchlings and hatches together in a room, then set the drop-off to 0, they auto wrangled all the hatches and left the hatchling, i don't know if still i'm somehow doing something stupid or it's a bug with my game or something ...
If you are talking about auto-wrangle via the critter drop off post, I don't know if it's intended to be this way, but dupes will never autowrangle a child. You can manually tell them to wrangle a child though.

If it's out of the incubator itself, then the dupes will only perform the hauling task of moving it into a stables if there is a stables with a drop off that is not currently at maximum. No wrangling needed here.

Babies aren;t auto wrangled, it's another bug. Oh sorry, feature. Because they can do it manually... if you babysit them.

Indeed that was my "mistake" at first i was using a room with no incubators, just waiting for the egg to hatch by itself, which makes it necessary to manually order the wrangling. But now that i've tried the incubator, they automatically take it to the stable when it hatches. Thanks everyone for your answers it helped me to find a solution to this little problem. Have fun everyone.

No problem, I've wrestled with that issue myself a bit. I wish there was a way to automatically issue a wrangle or kill order, but alas there is not. Instead we have to work around.

If you have a room with, for example hatches, and you want them to lay eggs, and then hatch, without dupe interaction, but still want to wrangle the hatchlings, remove them from the drop off list and have auto-wrangle checked. So Hatches checked, but hatchlings unchecked, and auto-wrangle checked. Dupes should, at least in my own observations, wrangle the babies. But they won't move them unless there is another available drop-off that is not overloaded, set to accept the hatchlings and a wrangled critter will release itself after a bit of time.
