Why does rocket show no range even with fuel?
I am not sure what is wrong. Does game give you any more info as to what is wrong?

You only have 3 modules attached. If you look carefully you can see the "Parent Rocket" is different for 1 of the pieces. I wouldn't recommend a solid fuel thruster btw.

It is my first time playing so I am not sure what I am doing really. how to i reattach the others?

I am not sure how i get to other planet over 10k away without that booster. If I have even attached it correctly.

A full tank of Steam should be enough. Try replacing the engine. If it still has issues, rip it all out and save/load.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working - the best I can suggest is just trying to reload the game and seeing if that fixes anything.

As far as the solid fuel thruster goes, pretty much the only reason to use it is if you don't have the petroleum engine yet, in which case you might use the solid fuel thruster to try to research new planets. Once you have the petroleum engine it's pretty much completely obsolete.

One thing I'd suggest though... regardless of anything else, even if save/loading does work, you should probably just rebuild your entire rocket further down and/or move the bunker doors further up. You're going to want to build a rocket much bigger than that - you should be sending 5 research modules any time you're researching a planet so you don't need to make multiple trips to research the same planet, and once you switch to a petroleum engine you'll probably want to have 3 liquid fuel tanks + an oxidizer tank, so I'd recommend making the space for your rocket big enough to fit at least 9 modules (in addition to the command module + engine) personally (more than that is only if you want to try to use storage at the same time as researching planets, which is optional but not really necessary). Your rocket doesn't actually need to be in space, as long as there are no obstructions above it. It'll save a lot of effort if you just make enough room for it right now than if you have to rebuild the entire rocket every time you realize you need more space.

oh do i need oxidizer tank with my petroleum rocket?

I have just got it unlocked and it doesn't have any distant on it with a full tank.

Yeah petroleum and hydrogen rockets both need oxidizers, but 1 oxidizer tank is enough for 3 fuel tanks. Going anything beyond 3 fuel tanks usually starts to reduce the maximum distance you can go because of weight penalties (or if it increases it at all it's such a marginal increase that it's not worth the extra cost), so there's really not any point using any more than 3 fuel tanks and 1 oxidizer tank.

I'd like to note that while oxylite or liquid oxygen are both enough to fully oxidize the rocket, liquid oxygen gives you a bonus to your maximum distance (and I think it might be cheaper to produce once you have the infrastructure to do it too, but I haven't actually done the math on that).

i not even sure how to make the liquid oxygen yet. Still working it out right now.

I was not able to load any oxylite into the tank? The oxidizer tank that is. OR do I need to add a cargo slot?

please don't tell me how to make liquid oxygen. I am having fun working it out

You need a gantry for the dupes to reach the oxylite tank.

I guess ladder is not good enough.
