Natural Gas all over my base?
Having an issue in my most recent game where for some reason there's a ton of natural gas floating around the base. The only thing I can think of is that I think this is the first game where I've taken "Flatulent" dupes thinking that it wouldn't be that harmful. So is flatulence like snoring where it's an automatic rejection, or is there maybe something else spreading natural gas around?

Only dupes. Same problem to me, but my dupes are not Flatulent

Natural Gas spawns from Natural Gas Geysers, from Duplicants with the Flatulence trait in separate amounts of 5g and the Fertilizer Maker at 20g/s while processing.

I have incomplete information, but I had this problem once. It occured when I started digging in the lower part of the astroid and something (really can't remember what it was) got either heated up by the magma or something got mixed with it. Whatever it was, it produced tons of natural gas.

There are three possibilites:
- You build a Fertilizer Maker and didn't seal it.
- You opened up a chamber with a Natural Gas Geyser
- Crude Oil dripped into areas of large heat, converted to Petroleum and than to Natural Gas

For the last: As the rate of conversion is 1:1 and fluid-tiles have a much much larger mass then gases, you can really fast overflow your base with it if not sealed. Imaging a single 1000 kg Tile of Crude Oil are 500-1000 tiles filled with NatGas.

EDIT: Anther thing. Before opening up any gas chamber, check the pressure/mass of the tiles in there, everything above 10 kg per tile starts to expand really fast and sometimes the conditions can lead to overpressure to 100-1000 kg per tile, which can really fast overflow larger areas.

I think this describes the problem I was having. Thanks for completing my memory.

I have the same problem and completely sealed the Natural Gas Geyser and added a water lock to enter. Still get random spawning natural gas inside other completely sealed areas. Nothing growing or no critters. Stuff just spawns. This is AFTER i vaccuum seal everything. There is nothing in there but vaccum. 1 cycle later, natural gas.

Actually I would like to further comment on something which I had seen yesterday pertaining water that appeared out of nowhere on the floor. It was a good amount of water also. :badluck:

Edit:
The mystery has been solved. :hype:

The Dupes were storing ICE in the storage bins. 🙃
