Hydrogen generator efficiency
to run 1 Hydrogen Generator +800.0W non stop we need :
1 Liquid Pump -240.0W
1 Electrolyzer -120.0W
2 Gas Pump -240.0W*2 = -480W
1 Gas Filter -120.0W
---------------- -960W

summary 800w-960 w = 140 w lack of energy

am i wrong or hydrogen generator cant be self sustained system ?

Well... For that build 2nd Hydrogen generator and set it up with Hydrogen Geyser.

2nd generator
will only not using Liquid Pump -240.0W other setup unchanged so eah new hydrogen generator will give you +100W
1 steam geyser with full utilization will give you 240w of energy

IMO the Hydrogen Generator sucks.

And all that is assuming that the electroliser will run at 100% constantly which it wont even with 2 pumps per electroliser. I like to think of the hydrogen generator as my useful mid game generator that helps pay for most of the oxygen generation system. It is by no means a steady form of energy, just a supplement to manual/coal.

Here's the thing about the hydrogen generator, it chugs hydrogen so much that you think coal gen isn't coal heavy eater. That consumption bar ONLY has 3 lines before it empties.

The hydrogen gen was made to delete hydrogen made from electrolyters since eventually, hydrogen will overrun the colony with prolong electrolyter use. Then it gives back some pwr to pay back the cost if sending it to the generator.

How do you make use of the steam gysers for power? I didnt see a thermal power system in there.

Like AquaX said you don't use hydrogen generators for power. You use them to delete hydrogen from your base because hydrogen is worthless.

Not entirely useless, it is current needed to pwr the super wheezewort Klei gave us and also works as the universal gas cooler since it has the lowest condensation point for a gas at near absolute zero temp. I use to create a cooling field to keep my plants in their optimal growth range.

Isn't that the job for thermal plates? O_o

Thermal plates expand the cooling field but lose effectiveness the further it goes. Also it can't breach a geysers heat.

K, thanks.
