How do you get dupes to empty sweepy docks?

I set the priority on them to high, like 8 or 9. Yet they still remain full and don't get emptied.

Auto sweepers and a rail will move out most things the sweepy drops off. Easier than waiting on dupes to get freed up.

If you want to move it to some other storage container then that other container should be of higher priority.

So, the storage container needs to be higher than the sweepy dock? I get what yer saying, I've seen in the wiki higher priority storage containers will be used first. It's just the sweepy dock isn't a normal storage container. I figured the priority for the sweepy dock was for emptying it. Kinda like how high priority for the outhouse gets it emptied quickly.

So what is the priority selector for the sweepy dock for? I think only sweepy delivers items to it.

The irony of needing an autosweeper to use sweepy.. just get the increased autosweeper range mod, it's much more entertaining.

Nothing ever pushes things to other containers. The outhouse, terrarium and other things that create empty errands dump the materials on the ground. This could cause very stupid looking loops if the sweepy dock worked that way, so instead it is treated like a normal container.

All containers need priority settings, otherwise the game can't know in which order you want them to be filled.

Thanks for the info. I need to lower their priority then or they will never be emptied. Put it at like one or something.
