"Insufficient Space Error"

hello i am new to the game and just downloaded it but i am getting an error about Insufficient Space. I have not downloaded any mod and already tried to uninstall and reinstall but that doesnt work. Can anyone help??

The drive you installed the game on doesn't have enough space to download and install the game. You'll need to free up space or install to another drive.

I'm having the same error. I just bought the game. I've never played it, nor installed any mods. I have 1tb of free space available.

If you use Windows 10 and you have installed One Drive, than Documents folder might be moved there and it can create issues for Klei games, which keeps save files in the folder.

Yes, I have this issue also. I suspect that saving to the cloud causes a short lag at times that is incorrectly interpreted by the game to be a lack of disk space. I ignore it and it never seems to cause any issue. Games get saved fine.

Oddly enough.... I had this error after playing the game lots and did a test. I don't know why this is an issue, but make sure the "Klei" folder in Documents is not hidden. I usually hide document folders from games and apps that aren't part of my saved documents and then suddenly I got this annoying error.

I am running Windows 11. Never had One Drive installed (disabled that long ago). I have LOTS of free space (almost 2TB) and running a well spec'd system. I had had Oxygen Not Included installed for almost a month and played continuously without error until this change with all DLC.

I removed the hidden structure and suddenly zero issue. So strange.

Update:
I tried hidding the "Klei" folder in Documents but made sure not to apply the hidden structure to subfolders and files. Also works. This is a good method for people that also do hidden files and want the folder hidden in Documents without hiding the files that seem to cause issue.

For anyone facing the same issue:

For me, it was Google Drive syncing the Documents folder. I disabled it, and all errors disappeared.
