How long to beat?
Hey everyone,
I am thinking to get Oxygen not included game very soon. I would like to know how long do I need to play to beat the game.
Also can I keep playing and keep expanding the base, and/or is the space for base is limited?
Thank You everyone!

You cannot beat the game as it still doesn't have any specific endgame condition.

so, it's basically endless :p

but it will take you many (hundreds of) hours to discover and master all content succesfully - hope that helps

you can keep playing and expanding the base, but the map is limited, so is the space, however, you'll need so much time to build in every corner of the map, like.. so many hours

Beat it?

I've got hundreds of hours and I've never even gotten into rocket science. Unless you're very good at this kind of game, good at organization, calculating for efficiency, and planning for what challenges come at each stage of the game, you can expect that your first 30 hours or so will be spent figuring out how to get your colony to survive 200 days or so.

Just a generalization of course, but you get the idea. The game is challenging so don't expect to "complete" it quickly.

You don't beat ONI, it beats you.

failed on my first game about 60 hrs, 200-300 hrs on 2nd game (still failed :lunar2019crylaughingpig:), then complete to finish my automatic rocket lauch system (as my finish goal) in 300-400 hours.

you can increase the map size quite a bit if you want, I found the default size too limiting so I made it much wider... which makes me much happier.

It took me about 450 hours to launch my first hydrogen rocket. At that point the game's kind of over, in that my colony's completely stable and I've built everything I needed. I wanted to build a sour gas condenser, but I'd run out of clay for ceramic insulation, and harvesting reed fiber from dreckos to make "insulation" insulation would take longer than I really wanted to wait.
