How do you get the Carnivore achievement?
It seems I could rather easily get all the achievements, except the Carnivore achievement. The only way I see you can actually do this is if you get ranching hatches VERY early on somehow AND at the same time cheat the game to give you Barbeque every time from the printing pod. This means you can have those 5 duplicants you need to actually get the achievement (due to the nature of the game having 4 won't cut it long term) and keep everyone fed enough at the same time.

I don't see how you can get them to eat 400 000 calories of meat product in the short span of 100 cycles. I'm not 100% but I think pacu file and cooked fish also count as meat, so I could technically have them cheesed in via printing pod every time as well. This is even with the fact that when cooking Barbeque or Cooked fish you get extra calories. How would you be able to do this at all without cheesing the printing pod?

First off you hit the nail on the head.
.you HAVE to get ranching early on, there are just no other clear options.
.I've tried it with pips, dont bother XD
.Fish/cooked fish both count for meat
.Shovevoles are walking BBQ bundles. If you have started on an arboria map, I'd breach the surface asap and catch these effers and use a low tech system to contain them.
.More dupes earlier means more meat consumed. (10 dupes need 40 cycles @ 0 kcal, 20 dupes need 20 cycles, getting them earlier helps alleviate the panic later on *(especially if you've not done the math on it yet)

*(When I went after every achievement in 1 run, I had to focus on ranching early, I THINK I got my first ranch room up in the early teens of cycles? around 13-14?; so yeah, focus on it hard)

That's just the ways to do it without 'cheesing the printing pod'

If you dont care about the how you got it, you could cheese like 8 shovevole egg batches and skip the ranching.
But personally I like the challenge.

I really do not like the challenge. I am all for harder achievements, and this game has a mix of achievements that I don't think are even worth being achievements, while at the same time you have this. Having to restart or boot up an earlier version of the game, or even having to resort to cheating the system, just because you want to get all the achievements in a run in the long term is incredibly annoying. The other achievements that I may lose progress to are not as bad, as I can pretty much take as much time with them as I want, but not this. For this the clock is ticking all the time.

Also, I wanted to know how much meat you get from younger critters; you get 16000 calories per shove vole, but what about ole pups? Do you get less or do you get the same amount?

Accomplishing the feat without save scumming the pod is easily doable if you focus on it *(with a time restraint should be obvious) And I agree some achievements*** are not really achievements at all, and from my perspective something like super sustainable which takes an absurd amount of excess time just trying to generate that power was more of an irritation that Carnivore.

Pups give the same value as an adult.
Tame adults will reproduce 1 pup in their life time even if they never eat, which means you can ranch voles early game and get a lot of BBQ from every vole that lays an egg *(since if they dont eat, they will never last long enough to lay another egg)

Hatches are easy to raise, can quickly multiply, and give good meat.
I've heard fish farms are another good go to, but haven't pulled it off in the volume needed for carnivore
Pips do not give enough meat to be a good choice for the achievement.

Hello, i got the carnivore achievment a few days ago. i startet on a new map, all standart, no mods, no cheese.

i focused hard on Ranching early on. got the Rooms prepared befor the research was finished. There is a good amount of time to kill befor a ranch is producing enough eggs for the "natural-evolution-chamber". i got my first bbq around cycle 50ish. until then i focused on expanding an farming all the natural food sources there are.

most difficult was doing all by hand. Best to go for short ways.

having enough energy for the incubators is tricky but can be done with some dupes running the manual generator 24/7.

the achievment is hard but not undoable. i got the achievment at cycle 97.

i have to say though that i would never could have done it had i not seen the YT -Series from Francis John. In his last playtrough on Rime he did all achievments in one run.

good luck

With some automation, you can essentially drop the energy cost by over 90%, and with manual intervention boost egg effeciency by nearly 20% as well.
