Glossy Drecko's and Pincha Peppers
Hi,

I'm a little confused, I went through all the trouble to set up two ranches, one with mealwood and one with pincha peppers.

After I had 2 Glossy Drecko's and 2 Glossy Eggs, I killed off my normal drecko's and converted my mealwood into pincha peppers as well.

After a while, I came back and my two Glossy Drecko's were just gone; I think I understand now that they must have starved :(

Anyway, I noted that I was having difficulty managing the temperature for my Pincha Peppers so after a huge overhaul, I have just gotten it right, but my two egg Drecko's are now only a few cycles away from dying of starvation.

The peppers are at various stages of growth but the Drecko's are refusing to eat them. What am I doing wrong please?

Thanks!

Glossy Drecko eats Mealwood and/or bristle blosson

As custume stated: they eat mealwood/berry and it’s directly from the plant. If you don’t want to spend resources, have a pip plant the mealwood and let it grow by itself.

Thanks guys, I found a post that says that they removed the Pincha Peppers from the Glossy Drecko's in 2018. I feel so stupid now because I misunderstood the wiki info.

Got my base on high alert to try and get mealwood back in before they die! :S

Use the ( in game ) database that is up to date, don't trust wiki because the game change so much that some information is wrong

You should use the ingame database or even look at the animal info tab when you click on them. At the bottom of that tab, it usually shows what they eat.

Yeah, thanks, I only just figured out that the game has an in-game "wiki" which is pretty cool.

Managed to just just save my last Glossy Drecko, about to get an egg again and then I should be back in business :)

There's a mod that restores them eating farmed pinchas.

I just dig out a chlorine bio leaving all the plants. In such a way as to create as many "parks" as possible, then move all the drekos there. As they are wild, if fed wild plants, they live a long time.
There is a bunch on most maps. I just feed them wild plants (balm lily and peppers). For just that I get a lot of phosporite for crops, basically no labor involved after setup

Is this the one you're referring to?

Wasn't sure if it's a safe mod to use as it's got no ratings and not sure if the mod will ever update it.

Storm, advice, don't use mods just because, you don't need it and is a point of error if the game decides to update something

Yeah no thanks, as a rule I hate mods, but sometimes you really need them to fix issues with the game that the devs decided not to (like being able to delete a table that's in your way).

Currently I'm only running 3 mods:
Pliers (allows you to "Cut" a pipe/wire when it gets joined by accident)
Zoom Out (allows you to zoom out so you can see the bigger picture)
Delete POI Objects (allows you to delete those pesky tables)

I'm running mealwood for the Glossy Drecko's but I really think it was short sighted to remove the Pincha Peppers, they were the perfect symbiosis.

That's probably why they were removed. Too easy to get lotsa plastic when you just completely flood it with hydrogen and make pinchapepper. Gotta work more for it now.
