The tidy, and storage priorities. There is an auto sweeper you can unlock in the mid-late game.

1: Make sure at least one dupe has a higher priority in the storage task than anything ekse,
2: Have a container set to store whatever you want stored that is set to priority 9.

The storage dupe should then store everything in that container before doing anything else. Oh, and it has nothing at all to do with tidy. Forget that.

I'd be careful how you do that though, you could have dupes constantly running back and forth taking small quantities of materials instead of getting on with a job.

The only materials I ever set to priority 9 are food, so it immediately gets put into my sterile storage area and Slime/Bleach Stone because getting those under water to prevent them off-gassing is important too.

Depending on how an area is setup you may want to have a high priority 'Liquifiable' storage too to stop melting ice leaking all over random areas of your outstations. But make sure that is set to 'Sweep Only' or you'll have dupes attempting to clean half a cold biome for no reason.

Yup. Use container prio for when you have significant amounts of something to pick up. For me it's mostly slime or refined metal, particularly from volcanos whenever they go dormant. But also polluted dirt for the compost. That's the only one I keep at 9 all game long though, even if it means dupes running around with small amounts of it. Just don't want it lying around at all.
