Max Gas Pressure, insufficient oxygen generation problem
So my problem is that I was too reliant on Algae Terrariums and it over-pressurized my base to about 4kg per block. Most forums that i've read say to ditch some of the terrariums and get deoxidizers, but I am already at an insufficient oxygen generation, I am losing about 54kg of oxygen a day and I know that deoxidizers won't function above max gas pressure, which will lead to more loss of oxygen. I have about 17 dupes and the daily reports say they are breathing up around 900kg of oxygen a day

Any help would be great thank!

So it looks like you ..only.. need about 38 Algae Terrariums to provide for your 17 dupes, just how many do you have?!

it's ok to generate 'insufficient oxygen' for a few cycles, what's more important is the general gas pressure throughout your base - as long as it's over 1000g per tile and no more than 3000g per tile should be absolutely fine. If you have 4000g per tile then you need to cut back for a few cycles anyway.

I had too many algae terrariums, but now I have about 11 trying to reduce the amount of pressure they were causing. I'm gonna start putting in some more deoxidizors, but as for pressure im still way over the limit in some rooms, would making mesh walls help dissipate the pressure?

it would yes, i'm not sure how far along in your research you are but there is a gas reservoir building that you can pump excess oxygen into for later use. (there's also an exploit/non-exploit way of storing gas but i wont go into that unless you're keen to learn about it)

Yeah I'll be working on getting the gas resevoir tech, I'm only on cycle 56 and I'll be using all the other methods too.

What's the exploit method?

It involves taking advantage of the way airlock doors work: when they close they push gas out of their space and when they open there is a vacuum in their space for a brief moment before nearby gas rushes in. So if you build a row of doors that open and close in a certain order you can move gas along them, and you can 'push' and compress the gas into a chamber at the end of the row. You precisely time the opening and closing of the doors using automation. tbh though if your new to the game just enjoy having fun learning the ropes for now.

Once you have the research for high pressure vents you can easily fix pressure issues...

You can also use the liquid exploit by putting a small drop of any liquid(like 20g or so) over a regular vent which will make it so it'll never over pressure which will let you pump as much gas into a room as you want. This take less tech research but requires more trial and error(because getting small amount of liquid to drop on the ground is hard). Personally I would just pump all that extra O2 outside your base into a big room with a high pressure vent since I doubt you have so much O2 to fill all that space with 20kg of oxygen.

@Ellip true that method is much simpler, though I find it highly entertaining watching the 'door machines' at work, i think i watched one for like five minutes once, i'm that bad :p

Yea they are pretty fun. Mine eventually got a room to be a complete vacuum which I always figured would be impossible by itself since you'd think there's be like some micro-grams of gas left over after being spread out in the room.

Large rooms take forever to get to vaccuum. Small rooms will get there pretty quick.
