How do you empty pipes?

How to empty pipes that are not use but still have content?

Click the icon for emptying pipes at the bottom and then drag that along the pipe you want to empty. It's pretty slow though, and they will do it on empty pipes too, so microing it on the segments containing liquids saves a lot of time.

If the pipes still goes somewhere you can build a bridge at the dead end. Just put the green end of the pipe on your dead end and see the stuff moving, that is how I usually do it.
