I use them in Aquatuner Cooling Loops cause the contents will average out the outgoing line.
Pair it with a Temp Check inside the Tuner Hot Box...Then another Temp Check before it goes into the Tuner line.
Here, there is a video by Steve Raptor its easy to follow very quickly it will help you understand how to assemble a powerful cooling loop.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buxZxl2Bitw&t=6s
So in this type of loop....Water temp gets checked before it even enters the Hotbox for Cooling in the Tuner...Before that same water can even leave after running through the Tuner it has to go through another Temp Check if it doesnt pass it runs again through the tuner.
A Steam Turbine on top turns the heat in the Hot Box to energy preventing the Tuner from Overheating...So it can run until it hits desired temperatures for your cooling line.
Now after using this setup, I can tell you the reservoir temperature "contents" causes the lines output to average out...In this case the contents drop temperature but if it had not run through the reservoir first it would be packets that were really cold and other packets hot.
Also since this cooling loop has reservoir, I can shut off both of them and the water in the loop stops running, helps so I can change the direction of the cooling target without dropping water everywhere.
It can hold 5t and if you store water inside that is a huge heatsink. Water has high SHC so you will need to spend a lot of energy to change temperature of that 5t just by 1C. And it will take time. That is why you shouldn't try to heat/cool a large mass of liquid. Try instead limit flow of the liquid like for example to 1kg/s and try to cool only the amount you need per second.
