On Nintendo Switch?
Hey,
Do you know or think the game will comes out on Switch for the release?
As the definitive edition of Mark of the Ninja will, i was just wondering and it could be a very nice surprise.

Thank you.

Seriously??? The switch can run this game like nothing. The only issue the devs would need to fix is all the lag that comes after a good ammount of cycles

Yeah the Switch could definitly run it.

The HUD and controls could be a thing to work on to make the game feel well. That's true there is lot of sortcuts in the game actually. But i think it's possible.

Despite the 2d graphics, this game has a considerable amount of simulation going on which I suspect would make a Switch port questionably workable. I own a Switch and love it for what it does, but I don't think ONI is something it can do *well,* and I have no illusions about trying to make the Switch (or ONI for that matter) something it isn't. Development has not focused on it and I think they are right to be working on ONI primarily for PC.

I will buy it again if they launch it on switch haha
These game woulb amazing on the touchscreen, but it think that the Switch will have some memory issues to calculate everything

It's still very early to say anything regarding this really... on paper it would be a dream because an ant farm type game in my mind would both look really good and also play well on handheld mode because of the extra controls the touch screen would bring to the table.

That's just me though and the developers aren't really talking about ports when the game is still in heavy development.

The switch doesnt have enough juice. This game already runs bad on high end computers that would make the switch look like a cheap laptop in comparison in power. The switch like most consoles are designed to play very specific games built around limited CPU power focusing more on graphical power. And even on the latter the switch is weaker than other consoles out now.

We can barely dream for 60fps in a fully utilized base right now with speed 3 on a PC. The game would not run at all with the limited CPU power of a switch. So when the devs say no, its not just because they lack the manpower to make the port. The switch just cant hold it.

As other peeps here said. This game is very CPU intensive and is already very software limited in terms of optimization.

Just because a game is 2D doesn't mean it doesn't require a good computer, or powerful hardware. Which frankly the switch doesnt have. Some of their own switch games already stutter at times like breath of the wild.

Honestly the Switch is more powerful than one of my laptops which I can run ONI on for hundreds of cycles and see no slowdown with 10 dupes running around.

Now, that's not to say it's good for getting to the end of the game, especially when you have tons of gases around. But I think people are grossly underestimating the performance of the Switch.

It might seem so but your laptop likely has superior processing unit. Oni isnt very graphically demanding and there are many factors coming to play in why your laptop can run this but a switch cant. Consoles are very very specialized and unless a game is very easy on CPU and heavily specialized in its graphics engine it will be a hard say weither or not its better or not. Your laptop is designed to run all kinds of stuff. A switch is not. A switch is designed to run specialized software that has been properly optimized and built to run on a switch.

Its like trying to compare a omni wrench with adaptable fittings and a standard wrench that can only turn certain screws. Just in this case your laptop is the adaptable one. The standard wrench is slightly better than the omni wrench to turn its specialized fittings but cant turn other fittings that arent that size. But the omniwrench can since it can adapt its size easily.
