Vanishing Chlorine in a closed system
Lately I've tried to use Chlorine in an electrolizer chamber to desinfect the Oxygen a bit before it gets pumped into the base. Nothing fancy, just an additional output in a room with 2 electrolizers, 2 pumps and a hydro-gen + the required filter setup.
Anyway, I can't tell, if it works or not since the Chlorine just vansihes very quickly. I'm pretty sure it doesn't escape the system. i checked that multiple times.

The gas pumps are arranged so that only traces of the Chlorine should ever get sucked in and I'm using filters to pump those traces back into the system. And there's definitely no Chlorine in my base or a corner of the room.

By this point, I've pumped a lot of the stuff into the room and I also kept replacing the losses (roughly 50kg so far). Everytime I cut the outside supply though, it's all gone within just one or two cycles.
Is there a known bug involved or am I missing a game mechanic here? Has anybody else tried a similar setup?

chlorine doesn't disinfect oxygen, it only disinfects items. Gases in the game don't exactly mix, I thought the same way you did and was quite disappointed when it didn't work.

That's why I build a chlorine room with my storage containers in it, make sure it's covered and then some. All slime/rot/etc goes into it, and I have a couple deodorizers in there. The pressure builds up insanely with oxygen so I have a door the dupes open periodically (should have made it automated to make it happen when I want, but regardless) It's a steady source of oxygen. Not always clean, but for the most part it is clean o2 and the o2 naturally kills the slimelung.

As for chlorine disappearing in closed rooms, My food has a not perfect airlock and it will always dwindle in chlorine. Whether the dupes are breathing it in, or a lil escapes as the double doors are opened, I'm not sure, but I ended up storing my chlorine in a different sealed room with some wheezeworts. Two of them managed to cool the chlorine near the pump down to -25ish so now the food room is both sterile and refrigerated and i just use the food boxes. Set an automated atmosphere sensor to keep it around 1000 and it tends to stay cool.

no shortage of chlronie, and if you get the geyser, yeeesh cap that fast because it will take over your world in no time. :)

My geyser I just made a huge room with farm tiles and planted a crap tonne of balm lilly. Worked out really well.

I have seen instances of small amounts of gas dissapearing next to air vents exhaling oxygen in my base. Chorine and nat gas have no filter, so they should be stuck in their until i vent them out, but i do see it dissapear when its passing a vent that is in its animation.

that seems to be a thing that happens, when a gas tile is "created" (either by a vent or w.e else) itt can replace a smaller amount of another gas to make room.

From my observations a while ago, Chlorine 'reacts and disappears' whenever it kills germs...
