Are small pockets of hydrogen dangerous?
https://i.imgur.com/rlYXDUE.jpg

Near the lower left there are a couple small pockets of hydrogen, i want to dig into that area in order to start setting up a plumbing and water purification facility. That hydrogen will of course be released, and i have no way to pipe it around yet.

is it going to be a problem ? or will it just float up harmlessly

While it may float up harmlessly, it may explode and be your ruin when in contact with an open flame. Luckily there is not something like that in ONI.

In short, like one should have a sink for chlorine&CO2 oh and Natural Gas (lower right), it is also advised to have an inverse sink at the top left.

Alternatively one could exploit diagonals bit by bit and build so that the unwanted gas is not releaed but pushed back or even destroyed. Though plants are prone to get in the way but can be worked around.

To actually answer the question : No it's not directly dangerous, yes it will basically just float to the top. It can cause issues, messing up the atmosphere in a farm or create areas where dupes need to run back for air too often. For now it's pretty much just like CO2 but upwards...just dig out more on the top left, if it gets in the way inside the base. And mabe have a shaft for ventilation somewhere on the left side, if it gets caught in the rooms.
