Polluted water increases temperature when filtered?
I have dirty water going into a filter at -18deg it comes out of the filter at 38deg. the filter is in the ice biome at -10deg air temp around it. where is all the heat comming from. does filtering the dirty water really generate heat.

The purifier generates water at a fixed temperature. The temperature of the location, the water, or the sand doesn't matter. It will always be 40C coming out.

Kind of sad really. Went to a lot of trouble to control the water temp. I consider this as broken game mechanics. Doesn't follow Newtons first law conservation of energy, thermodynamics.

Most people see this as a plus, as they use sieves to cool down hot water. I guess it depends on the point of view.

Side question, how the hell are you getting -18c water, is it not freezing? As soon as water gets to 0 deg for me, pipes start blowing.

Polluted water freezes at -20c.

It's design on purpose and your issue is based on view point. Many view as a + since the polluted water made from gas generator tend to get hotter if it isn't cooled by am external liquid source.

This rule applies to carbon skimmer and somewhat the electrolyters.
