[Feedback] Chlorine still less dense than CO2
As title.

Came back to see what had changed, and the answer wasn't much apart from fiddly sub-factorio logic / NAND stuff. Ok, so ranching, let's try that.

Booted up, set up a base so that the bottom would be a lily / new critter farm with CO2 scrubbers just above it, made a system where I was getting chlorine from the biome above me and...

Yep. CO2 is still denser than Chlorine, which is not only chemically incorrect, it seems specifically designed so you can't 'bump' CO2 at a base bottom, forcing it into scrubbers.

Should work like this:

---Oxygen + polluted sand scrubbers---
---CO2 + scrubber---
---Chlorine---
--Lily farm + critter fabric ranch--
---Polluted Water---

i.e. The chlorine neutralizes the polluted water, which is used for the farm, which bumps the CO2 into the scrubbers.

It doesn't because the game designers have decided that their version of physics / chemistry is better. Why bother having chemical gases in game if you're not going to respect how they function? Just name it Gooblenerf gas and FlibberJib gas, makes more sense.

QoL upgrade?

"OK".

From memory people brought this up in 2017 for reference. It's bad both in terms of design and just block-headed "Naah, we're not going to change this fundamentally flawed mechanic, boo-hoo".

Edit: here's a post referencing it from 2017

Are you sure there isn't a slightly less obnoxious way of making this particular point?

More than likely.

I also know the design reason to "why" they haven't changed it: they want an artificial gate to player progress, forcing the player to use the gas pump / vent system to exchange the CO2 for chlorine.

Which is fine unless you force the player to do it and don't let them get around it by extremely good base design of their own.

I found another example of this unfinished, logicless game: If you place a gas reservoir in chlorine chamber, it iwll destroy germs to 0. But wait, AS SOON as the gas leaves that reservoir, it has germs again. It doesn't matter what you do, as soon as gas leaves it magically has germs. And get this: A giant tank can bedisnfected in a matter of minute, but a single pipe, takes several minutes.

Klei, klei, klei....

Yes, and because the game has been out for years and isn't still in EA, we should demand as rudely and obnoxiously as possible that everything be perfect. Wait a minute...
