Storage is such a pain in this game
Containers should have 10x (at least!) of the capacity they currently have considering how much junk is laying around across the map, decreasing fps and fun for lots of players. Imo the entire system could use an overhaul, especially in a game like ONI. Seeing dirt and ore on every floor tile is just ugly and ruins the overall visual appeal of this game. Making a big and complex world is one thing...

Afaik 10x or even 100x is a thing there and easily added from the workshop if you want it in your game.

I can't really disagree that it would likely be more fun with increased storage capacity, however I don't think some rock piles on a cave floor ruins the visual appeal.

Also you don't have to dig out the entire map. If you don't need the material don't dig it. If you just dig whatever you need for your actual base building you will not have a lot of loose rock, and you can easily fit it in a small storage area with the regular bins.

There's also the dispenser and conveyor chute which allows you to stack infinite material in one spot, unless you consider that an exploit...

Good point actually, not sure if it's an exploit though as it requires a lot of work still. And I'll try digging less.

Will definitely check those out, but that's probably counts as cheating and I don't want an easy experience.

i actualy work to turn msot of my stone tiles for my base into granite for the small decor bonus, sandstone gets put into a room for getting food for hatch farms to make coal and meat. any excess i turn into sand, can always use sand for some glass and filtration medium.

Easier to whine than search "storage" in the workshop?

If you don't want to cheat at the game, then just build more storage bins and make tidying up a higher priority with your dupes. I've seen pros build massive storage facilities in the late game. That's all it takes.

you are supposed to remove all the junk on the ground

thats the entire reason it decreases decor

Did you really just complain that storage capacity should 10x's or more. Then when someone told you there is a mod that does it that you think it might be cheating?! I'm I reading that right because this is beyond stupid thread if I read that right.

The developers made mod support so players can change the game to match what they would rather have it play like. It's not cheating, it's changing the rules.

It is the player job to create a storage area to place all the materials. The fact you are having issues with it is you lacked the foresight to create an area to hold all the materials.

I literally turned one of my chlorine biomes into a massive storage area.

I said I'll check it out, don't be toxic. And I mainly complained about the mechanics.

You don't need a mod. Build an Automatic Dispenser, do not hook it up to power, select all items you want to store in one place, select Sweep Only. Only items you sweep will be put there and they will dump on the floor because it has no power. It destroys beauty in the surrounding area but if you put it in a separate room its not bad.

yeah i basically do this, then dig a dumping site have a auto grabber pull resources out of the room i dont need like sandstone, and force it all into the same space. this is much later but once the process is over, no more decor detriment and all those resources are in one easy to access spot.
