Click the critter and in egg chances section check out, by hoverimg mouse over each different critter variant, what are conditions to increase egg chance. Maybe you are keeping slickster in conditions that increase chance for longhair egg?

i have them sitting on space heaters but it still has them ssit at 59 degrees so they lay longhairs

also can i get new eggs from them?

Tamed critter can lay eggs multiple times. Just make sure they are happy to boost their reproduction rate.

they arent tamed

Then tame them while you still can before they die.

how do i raise the temp and how do i get them to lay more than one egg?

"Wild" Critters generally lay 1-2 egg in there lifetime.
"Tame" Critters, groomed with a station, lay roughly 15-ish eggs in a lifetime.

Temp= easiest way is to put slickster farms in the superhot petrol biome. other than that? stick the farm in your industrial zone or something.

Also put them in an area with A LOT of CO2,

also- Longhairs are pretty great to just let roam wild in your base and gain random decor, "Wild" critters dont need your input. and slicksters are not really that useful for your main petrol production, it takes a lot to make a little. but ranching is FUN! goodluck

One of the main reason raising slickster is absorbing CO2 without energy consumption.

No it is actually a very useful advice. Slicksters are not the easiest critter to just have. Each critter have a livable temperature range as well as a comfortable living range. If the temperature is to low, slicksters will give birth to the longhaired version. If the temperature is between 60-100 you get normal slicksters. If the temperature above 100 you get molten slicksters.

If you get longhaired slicksters you are having a to low temperature. You need to raise the temp just like the advice said. You should design a housing unit for them. If you have a air lock designed to keep air out you can have vacuum around and then heat up the unit to the target temperature. Exo suits should be used to keep dupes alive as they can't breath carbon.

Its actually a matter of their body heat. Sure. The space heater can be above 60, but if their body heat is 40 because the heat is not enough it doesn't matter.

the short of it, if you want oxygen eating decor bonuses, need colder enviroment to breed in. for molten slickster need really hot enviroment, dont worry they can take the heat.
