Fish not eating from feeder?
I've had huge pacu tanks in past builds, but for some reason in the current version I can't get the pacu to consistently eat from a feeder. Often the feeder will list that it has both the full 200kg of Algae and the 10 in the feeder arm, but the graphic doesn't actually show this. And regardless, the pacu won't eat it. Saving and reloading sometimes makes the graphic disappear. Constantly deconstructing and rebuilding the feeder sometimes makes the pacu eat from it, but usually not.

Am I doing something wrong?

i think there's a sweet spot in terms of water depth in relation to the feeder

There is not. If the feeder is some distance above thew water line, the fish will actually jump to get to the algae in it. The fish are bugged AF. Look at the nav grid for an individual fish. If you have recently changed anything about the pool, depth, shape etc, the naf grid routinely disappears, meaning that the fish can not move anywhere. You have to reload to redraw the nav grid. IMO this is what causes all the problems with Pacu, including with the feeder.

That is an issue, but I don't think that's the issue here. The fish can definitely get to the feeder. They hang out right by it all the time. They just don't eat from it. From more playing, I can say that they're eating an average of once every ten cycles. Reloading isn't helping, at least with my problem.

Maybe try rebuilding the feeder further to the left, away from the drop-off point. Whatever's going on, it definitely should be working as is.

Thanks, but I've tried that - no change.

New Ranching problem, maybe make it a ranch?

FWIW, this glitch only seems to apply to wild pacu. Get a tame one in there and they'll eat like normal.

Maybe try to make the room a ranch?

I know this is old topic, but it's the first google result, so maybe someone else will look here too.

I had a similar problem, and what worked for me, was to order a construction of a tile on the pacu's spot. The fish immediatelly moved away from that spot and pathing seemed to start working for them.

Had the same problem, and can confirm that this still works!

Still works in Sept 2021.

Alternatively, you can save/reload. This is what I do when I notice them starving after many cycles.
