They're an absolute PITA to use.
A gas filter and a gas vent are the way to go.
Now that I think about it, it would have really been better to use one tank per gas.
Also thanks for the warning about the canisters. I'll avoid them.
edit: Main reason for my thoughts about the canisters were that I would not need to build pipes for every room but I guess some kind of automation is still better.
The inlet has to be connected to a pipe, but the pipe doesn't have to be connected to anything. You can feed liquid/gas into a reservoir with no pipe on the output, but it won't output anything if the input isn't connected to a pipe.
