Remove gases with space exposure?
Hi,

it is possible to "erase" gases with the vacuum generated by the space exposure? In the "real world" I would expect that in the moment when I remove the last block between my base and the space exposure that the vacuum sucks all gases out of my base.

I generated enough oxygen with Electrolyzers and this increased the pressure in my base (additional to oxygen through slime etc.). Now I have the problem that the pressure rises to high and I search a simple way to "delete" all gases that I dont need to reduce the pressure.

Ty :)

Yup, it's pretty common to dump CO2 into space. It's usually piped and vented because you can control what's going out, why remove the precious oxygen when you can remove other gasses to make more room for the oxygen, buy yes, gasses will move from high pressure to low pressure like you're thinking. If you really want to dump a ton quickly make your space breach 3 tiles wide, the size of the column will effect how fast the gas can escape.

One thing that might surprise you when you do open up to space is this game follows much closer to how it works in the real world (and not how it works in the movies). IRL the pressure difference between atmo and vacuum is 14.5psi. Will you immediately start losing gas? Yes. Will you lose all the gas in your base instantly? No. Will you lose all the gas in your base in 100 cycles? Doubt it.

Pumping gas out into space, on the other hand, can be made efficient.

In case it hasn't been made clear yet, what you do is run a pipe up to an open space tile (you can see the stars through it and when you hover over it, it says "space exposure"), ending in a vent you construct and run gas through it using a pump (and maybe filter as well just to get the undesired gas while keeping say, oxygen).
