How to get Buddy Bud without swamp biome?

I am playing in Andoria asteroid, which doesn't have swamp biomes. Buddy Buds don't show up in the printer and I cannot see them on any other asteroid on my starmap.

Is there any way to get them?

Sandbox mode, on my current map I never found a single pip, so I was effectively locked out of this game mechanic, I had to add them manually.

Pip can be brought from Living Planet. The closest one I have is 160,000 km away, not sure if it can spawn closer.

I don't want to do sandbox, I want a survival challenge ;) And steam achievements which get disabled by sandbox.

Unfortunatelly buddy buds seeds cannot be brought from space.

Pretty sure I have printed buddys. You just have to be lucky.

I think you can only print what you found. I am at 900+ cycles and that was always the case. I was never offered to print Buddy Bud.

I'm pretty sure it's random. How often do you check your printer?

As soon as it becomes available I always print something or reject all.

The only things you need to "find" to unlock in the printer are metal ores and manufactured goods (refined metals, glass, ethanol, plastic, steel). Nothing biological. But some stuff is locked behind how many cycles have elapsed (6, 12, 24, 48)

Unfortunately I don't think Buddy buds or Sleet wheat are among the possibilities at all. D:

Maybe I got buddy buds confused with another plant.

I started a new game... I'm at cycle 64 and already had 2 pipsqueaks through the printer....
Same for buddy buds (not 2 yet, but printer always offers them at a moment or another), matter of luck... you maybe get some from swamp before having one from the printer... or not...

I think there might be a difference between finding/collecting them and them actually being present on the map. In my case, my map doesn't have Buddy Bugs and Swamp Biomes. I suspect that in your case, they are on your map and you might have already revealed them (somewhere on the side, where it's pretty dark and hardly visible).

I have bluff briars and blossom seeds on arboria.

Buddy buds do not print from pod and not all materials need discovery, just cooper ore, copper, iron, steel, gold amalgam, plastic, glass and lime.

Anything else that does print is available after certain cycles on any asteroid. Not everything is printable tho.

Do you know of a list anywhere of what's printable and not printable?
