Cleaning polluted water with chlorine?
Is it possible to clean polluted water (food poisoning) with chlorine?

I've dug out a room that is filled with chlorine and I'm pumping my food poisoning polluted water into that room and when I stop pumping it in and just let it sit it never becomes regular water, is that even possible to disinfect this polluted water with chlorine?

I've heard the best way is to pump the polluted water into a liquid reservoir (under the "base" tab) and make sure that reservoir is completely surrounded by chhlorine gas.

This works perfectly fine, just be aware that it's not instantaneous, it will take some time.

The chlorine will kill the germs but you need a water sieve to turn it into water.

So if you want a better method than the chlorine route, you can just heat up the water until it becomes steam.
Use the steam and route it to water, at a late stage in the game and pipe it through the steam turbine. Just make sure its far away from your base, or surrounded by abyssalite.

You can also use 1 to 3 ratio of infected water. The only area it seems to matter is the mist spray with electrolizers into food poison air born mist.
The food poison does not linger for long as air born mist, so you can just set a timer between pumping the air out, and creating the air.

Do you even have to heat it to steam? Doesn't the tepidizer warm it up just enough that the germs go away?

Anything over 75C. Or possibly even easier, any temp below -25.

Edit: These are for killing germs in plain water. To go from polluted water to plain I think requires boiling to steam and re-condensing back to clean water. This would also kill the germs.
