Any tips for generating natural/soil tiles?
I'm looking for a way of creating tiles that plants will grow in so I can have pips plant things that will grow without needing resources for the sake of efficiency and sustainability. I have no idea how to go about this though. Any ideas?

Have you tried farm tiles?

Farm tiles won't result in wild plants though, right? I'm trying to grow wild plants on purpose so I don't need to spend the resources needed for their growth.

A planted seed can't grow in to a wild plant.

You can create sand tiles by boiling polluted water. Pips can plant in sand tiles.

I'm talking about the having the seeds planted by a Pip. This results in wild plants and I've used it to have a wild wheezewort in my powerplant. The only issue I have is generating tiles for wild plants to grow on because I've dug out the nearby area.

Don't dig them. Make your reserve somewhere else. Late game you can cook slime into dirt blocks (125C), but that's not really "efficiency and sustainability", it's more of a "having excess resources and not knowing what to do with them" kind of moment imo.

I know your idea, and no, have try too and pips will not pick up the wheezewort, only edible food seeds

I'm saying I planted a wheezewort in my power plant, it works. I'm planning on planting other stuff elsewhere, in this case mealwood to feed dreckos without wasting so much dirt.

I tested them a couple of days ago in sandbox and they did replant wheezeworts np.

Not digging is the best solution, beyond that the only way to make natural tiles is to superheat slime to turn it into a tile (or freeze water/polluted water if you want sleetwheat or other cold hearty plants)

well lucky I guess, I will try again but the pip spend like 20 plus cycles and nothing, he did plant others by not that one, even lock him in a place and still nothing

What kind of tile you have in the area? it planted it on ice for me

If your pips are not planting your seeds its probably because there are too many other plants nearby. They have an asymmetrical region around them that is 4 squares above, 8 squares below, 5 squares to the left, and 6 squares to the right around them I think that they consider for each potential planting spot. If there are more than 2 plants in that region they will not plant there. Because of the asymmetrical nature you need to try to have pips plant the plants higher up and more to the right first if you want to pack them in as densely as possible.
