Slimelung and Slime help.
I have read and watched some videos and articles on how to clean slime lung and how to store slime. They all require complex gas or rooms with ice factories or sealing chlorine conveyor belts. I dont know how to do any of those things.

Every time my colony dies (typically around cycle 50 because I die to germs and or lack of water) and start a new game, slime biomes are always near by. I also notice its where I get gold from.

What is an easy way to deal with slime lung that doesnt require a complex knowledge of machine gimmickry or moving gases around.

Deoderizers, just put them where you see the polluted oxygen. Low tech and cheap.

Put any slime you mine in a bin underwater. This will prevent any polluted oxygen from being emitted from it. As for the lime biome itself, just put some deoderizer in it and wait for the slime lung to die. Slime lung will die slowly in oxygen and your dupe can inhale a good amount of germs being sick. Lastly get atmo suits later on which will solve all heat/cold and germ issue you might have.

Can you clean the slime and make it clean? or is slime always infected?

No, the correct answer has already been provided - use deoderizers. It is easy and doesn't require complex knowledge of anything.

You can use an ore scrubber to clean slime or any other solid but you'll need 1 ore scrubber for every dupe bringing slime in or else they won't scrub the ore if one is being used. Generally it's not worth it because slimelung isn't as dangerous anymore since it no longer kills dupes and just gives a debuff.

A few simple things:

1: Avoid digging slime at all until you have researched the deodorizer. SL dies in clean air, although it takes a while. Simply use them to clean all polluted air you come across or make yourself.
2: When you dig slime, store it safely. Either in a sealed room with chlorine in it, which is best because it kills the germs in the actual slime too, or simply underwater. Things that emit gas stop doing so under water.
3: Get used to using exosuits. This is a bit of a hurdle for new players, but it really pays off quickly. Temperature, lack of oxygen and germs will not be a problem if the dupes are wearing suits.
4: Find a reed plant near your base that you can safely farm without digging up any, or at least a small amount of slime. Farm that until you can make your first suit and then set things up so you can wear suits outside as early as possible.

Alternatively you can put stuff in a room full of chlorine. The benefit is this doesn't consume chlorine (the ore scrubber does), but the downside is you need to figure out how to keep the chlorine in the room.

release flower germs which will overpower slimelung

You can also chill slime if you want it sterile. From memory anything below 20C kills slimelung germs.
That said, if it isn't giving anybody lungfulls of infected PO2 the germs on slime aren't really a worry.
I put lot of deodorizers and left room for some time. digging all slime tiles and build walls.

Carry slime somewhere to kill germs first before using it. I was trying put it in clorine room but I think scrubber is actually faster and easier to setup, I'll try it next time.

The problem with chlorine room is they emitted polluted oxygen, which I didn't want in room (I was also using water tanks to kill yellow germs with chlorine here)

The benefit is this doesn't consume chlorine (the ore scrubber does
Actually I had problem with chlorine there was too much of it so I wanted to send it into space, lol (I was trying remove CO2 first that way to test it)

slime germs die in clean oxygen

Slime germ grows rapidly fast in polluted oxygen in which there's abundant of said gas presented in biome as well.

But we have little thing called deoderizer.

Does anyone know actual mechanics for exposure in the new update?
I see that many of my dupes have "contacted slimelung", but apparently that's just a first stage and the actual risk of getting suck if contacting it continues...
So, how much can i contact it before it counts as proper "exposure" the risk becomes real? How long do the dupes have to go without contact for the risk to subside?
